FEAST OF THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD
The Mass of the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord was celebrated last Sunday by Fr. Stephen Patterson S.J. This feast ends the Christmas season. The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord celebrates the baptism of Jesus by St. John the Baptist. The Gospels attribute this event to the beginning of Jesus’ ministry on earth.

The Brasilian Catholic Community once again gathered for worship in the form of Holy Mass, this mass was celebrated in portuguese by Fr. Robert Barrow S.J.
Fr. Bob, a non-portuguese speaker was trained to read the words of the Mass by Bro Epifano Barbosa S.J. who started this project to bring together Brasilian Catholics residing in Georgetown in worship in their native language. Fr.Bob was congratulated by all present on the clarity of his pronunciation and his confidence as he celebrated the mass.
Assisting at the Mass was Guyanese Bro. Medino Abrahams S.J. Medino is a Jesuit studying in Brasil and who is home on vacation, Bro Medino who speaks Portuguese was of great assistance.
